We’re delighted to share that JEH founder John Johnston has been inducted as a member of the Worshipful Company of Launderers — one of the oldest and most respected institutions in our trade, with roots going back centuries.
It’s a recognition not just of John’s expertise, but of the commitment to craft and quality that runs through everything we do at JEH.
When John took over the business 13 years ago, the ambition was clear — to build something worth being proud of. That journey has included significant investment in state-of-the-art, energy-efficient equipment, a move to a new facility in 2022, and last year, the purchase of those premises outright. A derelict Whitchurch warehouse transformed into the Wye Valley’s leading eco-laundry — with its own borehole water supply, green energy, no single-use plastic, and a genuine commitment to helping local businesses make greener choices.
As part of the Worshipful Company, JEH is better placed to share knowledge, push innovation forward, and keep improving — better results for our customers and their guests, better for our teams, and better for the planet.
Later this year, John will also receive the Freedom of the City of London — one of the oldest civic honours in the country, dating back to 1237, and a formal recognition of his standing within the Livery. We’re incredibly proud and grateful to be involved.
